They serve as my compass, guiding my actions and decisions to stay true to my vision and to always have a positive impact on the people and world around me.
Pioneering Excellence
My story
Through my leadership journey, I have encountered numerous challenges as I transitioned from a novice leader to an experienced one. I especially struggled with the lack of support provided by hospitals for new nursing leaders, as they were not equipped to offer the necessary guidance and mentorship. These obstacles became even more apparent during my intellectual development and through my observations, I recognized that this was a widespread issue plaguing the industry. My journey has not only highlighted the need for change in the industry, but it has also propelled me to become a leader who advocates for and supports the development of new leaders in the nursing field. I am committed to using my experiences and knowledge to inspire and guide others on their own leadership journeys.
23+Years in Healthcare
85% of my mentored novice leaders were able to climb the ladder and reach managerial positions within just two years.
For the remaining 15%, however, the experience was not any less rewarding. While they chose to remain in their current positions, they were able to improve their work-life balance significantly by utilizing the tools and resources provided, All recipients felt the training positively impacted the organization as they were able to maintain a dedicated and motivated workforce.
>42% Lacked Training
My organizational assessments uncovered 42% of nursing leaders lack the training for project management, instituting evidence-based practices, and sustaining initiatives.
With the rise of competitive industries and the need for strong leadership, the role of mentorship has become a vital aspect for the growth and development of novice leaders. The success of an organization relies heavily on the ability of managers to guide and inspire their teams, and this can be achieved through effective mentorship.
Improve MCR Star Ratings
Develop powerful leaders who can effectively uphold the organization's mission, values, and goals to mitigate both internal and external disturbances that can otherwise result in a detriment to the organization's customer base, workforce, and overall reputation. Studies show there is a correlation between leadership training with mentorship and improve patient outcomes, improve staff retention, and decrease nursing leadership burnout.
